New Planning Concepts

The opportunity to look at plans and consider costs is available by ordering the $15 catalog package, plans are new and photos helpful. We specialize in designs that are simple to build, livable that also play off the dramatic elements of the dome. Our rooms have interior walls of sufficient height for an entertainment center, hutch or fireplace, the headboard of any bed and consolidate plumbing with space for HVAC other than in extensions.

There are still so many choices that you are invited to talk to us about your site, space and budget desires, using a lower level yes or no and building close to 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 5,000 square feet and we can assist you in selecting a plan and establishing a budget.

• Popular Panorama View Room now available in all sizes and shapes. All winter our PVR served as an air lock for our staff coming and going. This summer, since it is east facing, it has been helpful in sheltering us from the heat of the morning sun. Only about seven days have we wished for AC, this is Oregon.

We have created a brochure showing a series of plans for the 946 square feet, all one level small home up to the 2453 square foot, still in a 35' dome utilizing a lower level, main and loft. Requests are up for people mindful of creating enough space for them and their furnishings yet not more than they want to afford and maintain. Value with space and light! Helping people who want to know how much the home costs prior to locating land has me feeling like the salmon swimming upstream. See if this helps those of you who think they need a size dome to look for land. A 2453 square foot dome can be located on a 50 x 100 foot city lot, should that be what you like. Land you like with a description of the views, from which direction the driveway enters and whether the property slopes or is flat gives enough information for us to make progress on what size dome and the total cost of the building project, our kit and the local labor and material. We have so many size domes, plans and scenarios that land and your budget provide the information we need to begin the design, often getting you a sketch, no cost obligation to begin the discussion.

Getting land is an adventure for the persistent and courageous. People who want to know who will build their dome before they get plans and want costs before they get land are sometimes not the "developer type" and better off purchasing an already built home. We support you in being successful as the developer of your dome, in this order; land, budget, plan, builder, lender, then dome raising supervision and a recommended roofer! I'm happy to give people the dome kit price, often 10-50K, however, it seems like our willingness to assist with the budget for the entire dome is of most value. A preliminary budget is possible with an idea of the land, NSEW for orientation, sketch, preferences of finishes whether owner labor is part of the project or a totally built by others scenario.
